Preview of the Division 10 fixtures scheduled for Monday 16 February at Netherton

It really is crunch time in the race to become the first-ever winners of the Division 10 Champions title as the two contenders to complete their season with a head-to-head confrontation with the winner taking all. Rastrick sit in poll position with a three-point lead over the only team that can beat them to the title, Thongsbridge. The teams have been locked together as the two stand-out teams in the Division all season, but the final reckoning now awaits them.
A drawn final day result will suit Rastrick as the three-point gap will be preserved and they will be Champions. Any win for Thongsbridge will see them crowned as Champions. When the teams met earlier in the season the Thongsbridge team inflicted the only defeat of the season on their opponents by 6-2 and the same on Monday will suffice to make them the title winners. It will be a fitting climax to a good opening season for the new teams to the League. What will be, will be.
There is still the matter of the second relegation place to be sorted out with the bottom two teams facing each other. Of the two, only Brockholes E can escape the drop but they will have to win to pull Outlane B back into range to be passed. Their opponents, Holmfirth B, are already relegated. However Outlane B can guarantee avoiding filling that second relegation place by winning by 6-2 or better in their final match against Skel Windmill A.
The race to be the Division 10 Top Bowler of the season is also going down to the wire with Thongsbridge and Rastrick bowlers again involved in a final day sorting of the honours. John Gant (Thongsbridge) and Bob Laycock (Rastrick) are the two bowlers left in the frame for this achievement. They could even face each other on the green in the final day fixture, which would suit Bob Laycock more than his opponent. If they play different opponents and both win then John will be Champion with a starting 55-point 'Aggregate Difference' which cannot be surpassed. However, if they face each other and Bob should win, then he will be the title-winner.
