A preview of the Division 2 matches to be played at Springwood on Wednesday

The newfound form of Denby Dale which has seen them win their last three fixtures will be sorely tested this week as they take on second-placed Lindley Lib who themselves have won their last 5 matches. Whatever the outcome we are unlikely to see any change in the leadership with Meltham looking for a 9th straight win as they meet up with Huddersfield Recreation Club 'A'. Meltham are 8 points clear and it would be a major achievement if their opponents could take any points off them. The Recreation Club have won 2 of their latest 3 matches after starting the season with 5 straight defeats but that will not disturb the leaders who will be aiming to go all season unbeaten.

This set of fixtures are the reverse of the opening day match list as we head into the second half of the season. Paddock I&C may be at the foot of the table at present but they have the satisfaction of providing playing time to 10 club members to date which is the same as Springwood 'A' who sit higher up the table in third place.

This week Paddock face Jackson Bridge who will be aiming to repeat their earlier success over the same opponents. Springwood 'A' are looking to embark on a mirror run of their opening three matches against the same opponents when they clocked up three 8-0 wins. The first rerun is this Monday when they take on Thorpe Green 'B' but regardless of the outcome they will remain in third place with Lindley Lib 9 points ahead of them and Denby Dale 10 points behind them, both out of range.

It all starts at Springwood from 12noon on Wednesday and spectators are most welcome.
