Lowerhouses clocked up their second Division 1 9-0 whitewash win of the season when seeing off Cowcliffe on Tuesday. With their main rival, Longwood, recording a 7-2 home win over Waterloo means that they have extended their lead at the top to 8 points. That last result also confirmed Waterloo's relegation.

With Cowcliffe getting beaten, as was a depleted Kirkheaton Con A team away at Rastrick by 8-1 left Clayton West to take over 3rd place after winning 6-3 away at Marsh United A. Meltham A also collected 3 points from their trip to Lockwood Con A but made no headway on pegging back the 8-points difference there is between them and Marsh United A.

Lindley Lib A still need a few more points to be sure of steering clear of the drop zone and were deprived of two bonus points when losing the aggregate score in their match against Golcar Lib A by 123-124.

Elland WMC were already promoted from Division 2 before this week's fixtures but a 6-3 away win at their nearest rivals and neighbours, Elland C&BC, almost secures them the Division 2 Champions tag as well. They just need 3 points from their last two fixtures to complete a great outcome.

The bottom 8 teams in Division 2 are all within range of the relegation places, some nearer than others. That threat stretches up to Milnsbridge A in 4th position. Occupying the two drop positions are New Mill A and Golcar Lib B. The Golcar team made it three consecutive home wins when beating Almondbury BC A by 6-3 but they still haven't won a single away fixture this season which is likely to condemn them to relegation very soon.

New Mill A are also in the relegation places and a 1-8 away defeat at Shepley did nothing to ease their plight. That result did keep Shepley in the promotion race along with Elland C&BC but the gap has reduced to 11 points with two matches still to be played.

Netherton Con A won 6-3 at home to Broad Oak A but remain two points and one position above the drop zone and a second successive relegation remains a very clear threat. Denby Dale took 3 points from their trip to play Thongsbridge A which helped move them up a place but still too close to the relegation places to be able to relax.
