Preview of fixtures to be played on Wednesday 29 November in Divisions 1 & 2

Some close encounters are scheduled for the Division 1 programme this Wednesday as the 2nd and 3rd placed teams go head-to-head for a start. Then the bottom two teams also meet up.

The top clash sees Clayton West take on New Mill A, both have previously held the top spot in the Division 1 table which is now occupied by Thorpe Green. At the foot of the table sit Golcar Lib and Meltham which is a surprise to all. Meltham finished third last season whilst Golcar Lib are the two-times Champions of the Veterans League. One of them will, and both of them could, go ahead of Kirkheaton Con who have a bye this week.

Thorpe Green know that a win against Lindley BC A would see them retain top spot. Lowerhouses A versus Lower Hopton completes the Wednesday programme.

The Division 2 programme sees the next challenge to the 100% win record of Cowcliffe A come from Lockwood Con A. It would be a shock outcome if that record went this week based on current form but whatever happens the Cowcliffe team will still top the table for another week. Eight points separate the eight teams behind the leaders with Lindley BC B heading that pack and confident of retaining that position when meeting Huddersfield Recreation Club A this Wednesday.

Denby Dale may be at the bottom of the table but a first win for them last week leaves them eight points (or one big win) away from second place. This week they take on Springwood A who are still reeling from a whitewash defeat last week. Milnsbridge A have gone off the boil a little when losing their last two matches to dampen their promotion aspirations. They will be looking to get back on track when facing Brockholes A this week.
