Review of the results from Divisions 1 & 2 of matches played on Tuesday 9 July



The bottom two teams in Division 1 clashed at Netherton Con this week as the home side went down 3-6 to the visiting Clayton West team. That enabled Clayton West to climb out of the relegation places as the Rastrick v Lindley BC A match fell foul to the weather although not everyone was happy with the decision to postpone the match.


Lowerhouses continue to lead the table and a 6-3 home win means the gap is 10 points to 2nd placed Marsh United A who beat Kirkheaton Con A by 7-2. Waterloo lost a home fixture for the first time this season when going down 3-6 to a Cowcliffe team winning for the 4th consecutive match and remain handily placed in 5th position. Golcar Lib continued their trend of losing away from home when making it 5/5 at Longwood who ran out 7-2 victors.


The top three teams in Division 2 all won their away matches on Tuesday with Meltham impressing with an 8-1 away win at 4th placed Milnsbridge A to widen their lead to 15 points over Elland C&BC who won 6-3 away at Linthwaite Hall. Lindley Lib A squeezed a 5-4 away win at Shepley thanks to a 119-118 aggregate scoreline.


Almondbury BC A won the Almondbury derby encounter by 6-3 to leave the Liberal Club side bottom of the pile after a 6-3 home win for Broad Oak over Thongsbridge A lifted them off the foot of the table.
