Review of Division 1 and Division 2 matches played on Wednesday 8 November

The 2022-23 Division 1 Champions, Lower Hopton, have stepped up a gear to record their first win of the season with an 8-0 win over the table leaders, New Mill A. After a sluggish start to their 2nd defence of this title the holders found their form to pull the leaders back into range.
A much-changed New Mill team struggled to find any hope of making it a hat-trick of wins but live to fight another day. Thorpe Green take over at the top of the table moving up from 3rd position after inflicting a first defeat on Clayton West who stay second.
Lowerhouses made it two wins from two matches when beating Meltham 6-2 although a 49-48 aggregate scoreline couldn't have made things easy for the winners. Lindley BC A and Kirkheaton Con A shared the points and a close aggregate contest at 52-50.
Cowcliffe A passed their stiffest Division 2 test so far with an emphatic 8-0 win over Lindley Lib A who drop from 3rd to 5th place as a result. That enables the Cowcliffe team to open up a 6-points lead ahead of Milnsbridge A who lost for the first time this season going down 2-6 to Lockwood Con A who were clocking their first win of the season.
Huddersfield Recreation Club A did well to share the points with Springwood A and move off the foot of the table as a reward. That saw Denby Dale drop three places to take their place with Lindley BC B collecting a first win of the campaign when beating Brockholes A 8-0.
