Another dip into the Memory Bank to look at a long defunct local bowling green usually referred to as the Berry Brow & Armitage Bridge Conservative Club with the green situated at the rear of the Cons Club.

The Conservative Club itself was constructed in 1886 to a design by local architect Edward W. Lockwood but had been demolished by 1970.
