The Bowls Development Alliance (BDA)
Sport England funding to our sport is channelled through the Bowls Development Alliance (BDA) in support of our sport.
There are just two weeks to go until the BDA October Week of Learning, taking place from 12th-16th October 2026.
We have a great programme of online sessions to help bowls clubs develop, plan for the future and make the most of the opportunities available to them. They are all free.
What’s on offer?
🆕 Club Development Drop-Ins No need to register. Simply drop in and speak to a BDA Club Development Officer about anything you would like advice or support with. Regional sessions are available, but you are welcome to join any session.
🛡️ Safeguarding: Bystander Awareness Explore how we can all play a role in creating a safe and supportive environment within bowls, including recognising concerns and knowing how to respond.
📋 Future Planning Explore a simple approach to identifying your club’s priorities, setting realistic actions and finding the people, resources and partnerships that can help.
🔎 Club Health Checker Support Whether you are new to the Club Health Checker or have already completed it, get help understanding the process, your report and the recommendations.
📣 Creating a Marketing Strategy Learn how to identify your audiences, set marketing goals and choose the right channels to promote your club and its activities.
🤝 Peer to Peer Workshop: What Does a Well Run Club Look Like?Share experiences and ideas with other clubs and explore areas including governance, volunteers, communication, culture and day-to-day operations.
💷 Raising Money Explore different fundraising approaches, including grants, crowdfunding, partnerships and local funding opportunities.
