Bowling News
The BCGBA has just released information about the 2026 Insurance Scheme and asked County Secretaries to ensure circulation to all clubs and leagues. The County in turn have sent out to a number of individuals asking them to pass on in their Districts. I cannot see any Huddersfield District representative on the circulation list so thought it best to put on the website so that all Huddersfield area clubs and leagues are aware of it's existence.
The BCGBA insist that all clubs and leagues have full liability cover as part of their membership of the BCGBA. The cost of using the BCGBA scheme has not changed this year remaining at £55 but has deleted the age limit of cover which was previously 85 years old.
Here is the full copy of the BCGBA email and copy of how to take advantage of the 2026 Insurance Policy.

Subject: Insurance IMPORTANT
HI everyone
Please see attached for the BCGBA insurance scheme.
DISTRICTS can you ensure your leagues are aware of this email.
Good points:
Premiums remain the same
Personal Accident cover, there is no longer an 85 years age restriction .
Disappointing Points: The payment system is the same as last year by BACS, In July BCGBA were to set up an automated System for the insurance to be paid via the new web site, Calvin Jackson who is looking after this part had everything set up and has been pushing for the BCGBA Executive to deal with the administration, sadly they have failed to do this in a timely manner, thus the remote payment system is not yet ready. I have asked the BCGBA CEO to remedy this with the Finance Officer and Registrar without delay.
The system they have is time consuming and labour intensive, but it is where we are, In addition to emailing the Registrar can you also copy me in on this email when you have paid your premium.
I have a few more bits of information to send out later today but wanted to get this to you
Steve Cochrane
YCCGBA CEO and Registrar
