Bowling News

Dan Newton, the Chief Executive Officer of the British Crown Green Bowling Association, has resigned from his position after just one year in post, having been appointed in late August 2025. By submitting his resignation letter, Mr Newton has triggered a 6-month notice period in which he will continue to operate as the CEO. It seems that he is a casualty of the bitter internal dispute involving the BCGBA and a group of County representatives with both sides publishing recent statements of their positions. More later on this.

Mr Newton was leading a major programme of reform for the BCGBA, which has aggravated some bodies that want to downgrade, reduce and slow down the pace and impact of any change. A lot more to come on all this and HuddWeb will be sharing position statements from all the involved bodies in due course including a statement issued by the Yorkshire CCGBA on their perspective on all these matters.
