Report on the Monday results from Divisions 3 & 4 of the 6-Man League

Almondbury Lib are on fire! Two Division 3 wins by the ultimate 7-0 scoreline has marked their card as potential Champions already, which would provide an immediate return to Division 2 for next season. This time it was Lindley Lib B who were on the wrong end of that scoreline. Last season this was a Division 2 fixture which the Lindley Lib team won and they moved on to finish higher up the table than Monday's opponents. How things can soon change.
Marsh Lib B are the only other team with an unbeaten record after two weeks and a 6-1 away win at Hemplow A sees them sat in 2nd place in the table but 3 points behind the leaders.
Elland C&BC collected their first win since 22 July of last year and that brings an 11-match losing run to an end after a home win over Primrose Hill Lib by 5-2. There were also emphatic 6-1 home wins for Denby Dale and Linthwaite Hall which pushes them into 3rd and 4th places respectively with the B teams from Milnsbridge and Holmfirth being on the wrong end of those scorelines.

After two weeks into the new season only one of the 11 teams in Division 4 has an unbeaten record. That team is Hemplow B who secured a second win by beating Skel Windmill B on their own green on Tuesday by 5-2 to open up a 4-point lead already. That outcome sees a pile-up of 6 teams separated by one point chasing the leaders so it is anyone's guess as to which of that pile is going to emerge as the main threat to the promotion places.
It could be Greenhead Park B who appear to have already settled into their new home at Thorpe Green with a first win when beating New Mill B in emphatic style with a 7-0 scoreline. Netherton Con B sit in 2nd place for now even though they lost 2-7 at home to Marsh United B this week who themselves are likely to be a real contender for honours. Any team that wins 7-0 away from home has to be taken seriously and that is certainlly the case with Brockholes C who thrashed Shepley B this week.
It really is a pile-up of teams behind the early leader which also features Thongsbridge C and Meltham who met each other on Monday and both reveresed their opening day results as the Thongsbridge outfit won 5-2 away at their opponents. It certainly looks like most teams can beat each other in this division so it is likely to be a choppy ride near the top of this division this season.
