Preview of the 6-Man League fixtures to be played on Monday 14 July

The top four teams in Division 1 play each other this Monday with Clayton West under pressure to retain their 11 points lead. The leaders go to play 4th placed Milnsbridge A who are 18 points behind the leaders but only 7 points off the second promotion place which can only be the extent of their ambition at present. Whereas the 2nd and 3rd placed teams of Marsh United A and Waterloo are only separated by one point and they clash this Monday as well. Milnsbridge lead a pack of four teams separated by one point and any one (or more) of them are capable of mounting a strong bid for the 2nd promotion spot.

Approaching the 6-Man League teams halfway point of the season and Holmfirth A look likely to continue to head the Division 2 table despite not having a fixture this week. Only one team can catch them this week and that is Broad Oak who need a 7-0 home win over mid-table Brockholes B, to overtake the leaders.

Almondbury Lib have a very healthy 10-points lead and a 100% win record at the top of the Division 3 table and with 2nd placed Denby Dale without a match this week there is no danger to their lead and every chance of extending it with an away match at mid-table Linthwaite Hall.

With the top two Division 4 teams without a fixture this Monday presents an opportunity for third-placed Skel Windmill B to take over at the top. They are only two points behind the leaders and a home match against a struggling Shepley B side may provide the platform for their move to loftier heights. They are also the only top four team with a match this week so it is important that they take full advantage of that if they are intent of pushing towards the promotion places.
