Jack Burgin Trophy (MUGS) 2023 Kindly sponsored and hosted by Lockwood Con
The unexpectedly high number of entries for the 2023 Jack Burgin Trophy (MUGS) has caught everyone by surprise hence the late publication of this update. This is the one competition saved from the usual annual programme of events organised by the Huddersfield District which are not going ahead this year because no one is prepared to take on the responsibility of organising. Lockwood Con have stepped in to take on this role for the trophy that they donated to the District in memory of a popular club member.
There are 51 entries in total with qualifying spread over two Friday evenings at Lockwood Con starting at 6.00pm on both nights. The draw will be made on the night and a prompt start is important with so many matches to fit in.
This competition is open to all bowlers who have never won an open competition. Eight bowlers will progress from each of the two qualifying nights to go through to Finals Day to be played on Sunday 20 August starting at 2.00pm.
