The table below shows the finishing positions of all the Veterans 10-Man League Division 1 teams over the last three seasons (2023-2025). This provides a quick guide to the progress or backwards turn of each team over the last three years.

The table shows that Lowerhouses and Longwood have finished each of the last two seasons in the top two positions and in that same order both times. The table also shows us that Clayton West are the team to have made the most improvement in their positions moving up to 3rd position from 9th position in each of the previous two seasons. The biggest drop over the last three years comes from Waterloo who finished bottom (12th) this year after finishing 7th and 3rd in the previous 2 years.

To read the table take note of the three left hand columns which are the key to the final positions. The Division/Position is shown for each of the three seasons. For example look at the Meltham line which shows a 2023 figure of 1/12 which means Division 1 / Position 12. The colour code key is at the foot of the table and RED = Relegated. The other two years show the 2024 figures of 2/1 which means they finished the 2024 season as the Division 2 Champions. In an eventful 3-years for Meltham they have been relegated again this season with a 1/11 final position (11th place in Division 1).

Marsh United A have had a disappointing season by their own standards. After finishing 2nd (in 2023) and 3rd (2024) they have completed the last season one place above the dreaded drop. Similar for Golcar Lib A who won the title in 2023 for a 2nd successive season (not shown on the table) but have dropped to being a mid-table team since then.

It remains to be seen if the Lowerhouses team can emulate the last team to record a hat-trick of titles when the league season resumes in April 2026. The last team to achieve that was Lockwood Con A who went on a run of 7 consecutive Championship titles ending in 2021 and it would probably have been 8 titles if Covid hadn't robbed them of the 2020 title which was never contested.
