Preview of Division 4 fixtures to be played at Lindley Liberal on Monday 2 January
The Division 4 fixture programme resumes on Monday at Lindley Lib with a tasty-looking encounter lined up between the teams in 2nd and 3rd positions with the 2nd promotion place very much in focus.
Both teams are in good form with Lowerhouses 'B' winning 4 of their last 5 matches and Milnsbridge only losing once in their last 7 matches and that was to the leaders Lindley Lib 'B'. The Milnsbridge team also took the points 6-2 when the two teams met earlier in the season and will be keen to increase their 5-points lead over their promotion rivals.
Lindley Lib 'B' will be interested in the outcome as they have an easier-looking task on paper when meeting bottom-of-the-table Huddersfield Recreation Club 'B'. Kirkheaton C&BC keep bouncing in and out of the promotion places but to do that once again they will need to perform better than when they last met this week's opponents, Netherton Con 'A', who beat them 6-2 back in early November.
The last match that Paddock I&C 'B' won was on 7 November when they beat Marsh Lib 6-2 and they will be looking for a repeat performance when the two teams meet again this week. The Paddock team are desperate for a win to lift them out of the relegation places but are only one point away from safety.
There are no Division 3 fixtures at Thorpe Green this Monday as they enjoy an extra week off being well advanced with their fixture programme. They will be back in action next week with only 3 more rounds of fixtures to go in this season's competition so things become very tense as matters at both ends of the table near a conclusion.
