Winter League
The end-of-season league tables for all six divisions in the Huddersfield Winter League are below. Well done to all the title winners and promoted teams. Still some uncertainty about how many teams will be relegated from each division as we try to move to 8-teams in each division.
It all depends on how many news teams apply to join the league. Currently we have 6 new teams asking to join us and we expect more before the July deadline. We already have two new host greens lined up so could take 8 divisions of 8 teams in each for an increase of 10 new teams in total (54 up to 64 teams). We could have more if we had another host green.
Any team interested in joining the league should get in contact now as should any club interested in becoming a host green for an October start. All these factors will influence the format of the divisions for next season so don't expect any decisions on how many teams are to be relegated until July.
One thing the league has always done is honour the promotions won on the bowling green and it would be a big surprise if we didn't do that again this year. The League's Management Committee will meet on 28 March when this topic and others will be discussed.
