Winter League End-of-Season Meeting

Winter League

The Winter League rules state that two General Meetings must be held each year. The Annual General Meeting takes place in July and there is an End-of-Season General Meeting planned for March.

The provisional date for this meeting is Tuesday 30 March but in what form has still to be determined and will depend on what we are allowed to do at that time. It seems very unlikely that we will be allowed to congregate indoors then and probably not in April either.

As of today, we don't even know if we have reached the end of the season or not. Regardless of all that we have to have a working assumption that we will meet in some form in March and need to follow the process leading up to that meeting. The major purpose of the meeting is to consider proposals to review, add, delete and amend any League Rules. Clubs have every opportunity to propose rule changes. To do so they need to put any such proposals in writing to the League Secretary 28 days before the date of the meeting. I make that a deadline of 2nd March, just two weeks away.

League General Rule 12 says ...

Suggested rule changes from clubs must be proposed and seconded in writing from two clubs and must be received by the Secretary 28 days prior to the March meeting. Rule changes may also be recommended by the Management Committee. All proposals will be circulated to all clubs at least 21 days in advance of the meeting date.

Of course we may decide to delay the meeting until a time when we can all meet but that cannot be decided until we have some guidance from the Government which we hope will be forthcoming in the Road Map to Normality due to be published on 22 February. Until then we will continue to work towards a March 30 meeting in some form.
