Review of the Divisions 1 & 2 fixtures played on Wednesdy 22 November
Three of the four Division 1 fixtures played on Monday resulted in 4-4 draws with the one exception being Thorpe Green's 6-2 win over Golcar Lib. That was enough to send the Thorpe Green side to the top of the table deposing Clayton West who were without a match. It also sent the Golcar Lib team to the foot of the table with one win from four matches and behind two teams, Meltham and Kirkheaton Cons, who are still looking for their first wins of the season.
Both came close to that first win as Meltham lost the aggregate 48-51 to Lower Hopton to share the spoils whilst Kirkheaton Con won the aggregate in their meeting with Lowerhouses but lost out on games won to also clock up a 4-4 draw. The other drawn outcome featured New Mill A and Lindley BC A who lost out on the aggregate despite winning two of the games.
Cowcliffe A recorded the biggest win of the Division 2 season when beating Brockholes with a 63-18 aggregate scoreline and the inevitable 8-0 points tally. That puts them 16 points clear in the table ahead of Lindley BC B who had the biggest leap of the season in any division when moving up from 8th to 2nd place after their 8-0 win over Springwood A. From a relagtion place to a promotion spot in one day shows the tight competition there is in Division 2 this season. Only eight points separate the eight teams behind the leaders at present and as shown one big win can turn your season around.
Denby Dale had their first win of the season when beating Lockwood Con A 6-2 but remain bottom for now albeit on level points with Brockholes A having played a match less than them.
Lindley Lib A bounced back from three successive defeats to beat Huddersfield Recreation Club 6-2 and move into third place ahead of Milnsbridge A who were without a match.
