Winter League
With 13 new teams joining the Winter League this season along with a number of new team captains we thought it might be helpful to list what they can expect and what will be expected of them each matchday. So I've put forward a checklist of duties in chronological order that they will be required to undertake.
Write out your scorecards before travelling to the green
Collect the £2.50 green fees from each of your team members and pay the full £10 collected to the host club.
Collect your free raffle tickets from host club and give to each team member
Meet your opposing team captain to draw who is playing who (2 x Singles, 1 x Pairs)
The 'home' (first named) team decides the running order of matches - to minimise traffic on the green Pairs should be either first or last in that sequence. Teams should avoid having all four Pairs games on the green at the same time
The 'home' (first named) team also has the jack in all three games
One jack per match is on the green at all times. Ensure your team members are ready to bowl as each game ends
The 'home' team captain should input the result on to the Bowlsnet system within 24 hours
The 'away' team captain should Verify the result on Bowlsnet
If anyone thinks I have missed something out please let me know.
The Division 3 fixture programme started last Monday and as a reminder here are the starting dates for the four remaining divisions as the Winter League League builds up to a full 14-week programme of fixtures.
Division 1 at Milnsbridge - Wednesday 26 October 11.30am
Division 2 at Springwood - Wednesday 26 October 11.30am
Division 4 at Lindley Lib - Monday 17 October 11.30am
Division 5 at Netherton Con - Thursday 20 October 11.30am
Bowlers and spectators visiting Lindley Lib are advised to park cars on Daisy Lea Road (the clock tower side of the club and green) and then use the side-gated entrance to the green from that road.
