Junior League 'Match It' total nears £2,000

Junior League

The Huddersfield Junior League has received a significant early boost to their 'Restart in 2021' campaign with donations from the local bowling community helping to push the total towards the £2,000 milestone. A number of local bowlers, along with clubs and leagues have already made donations to the fund which will be matched £ for £ by the Kirklees Match It scheme.

They have now passed the third of the way mark towards the £5,000 target with six weeks to go before the appeal must end to qualify for the Match It support funding. That leaves over £500 per week that needs to be raised before the closing date at the end of January.

'Restart in 2021' is a campaign to attract young bowlers to the sport after a torrid year. All the money raised through the Match It project will be used to re-energise the push to get youngsters to play crown green bowls and introduce the many benefits to a wider audience.

League Secretary, Geoff Martin, has ambitious plans to use the money raised to galvanise local junior bowling and you can read what those plans are and how you can help by following this link. The League is very grateful for every individual, club and league that continue to support this venture which will set the league up with the best possible chance of extending its numbers and helping to secure the future of bowling in Huddersfield.

The fund is now approaching the £2,000 milestone including these donations from Huddersfield bowling clubs and leagues.
