Division 4 top two both lose

Winter League

A review of the results from Monday's Divisions 3 & 4 programme

The top two teams in Division 4 both lost their League matches this week allowing Netherton Con A and Lindley Lib C to take closer order. It was Netherton Con A that started the ball rolling when beating the leaders, Thorpe Green C, by 6-2. Coupled with New Mill B losing 2-6 to Kirkheaton C&BC for a first taste of defeat this season. Both teams hang on to their top two positions but the chasing pack is starting to close in on them.

Lindley Lib C had a massive win over Milnsbridge C to overtake them in the table by moving into 4th place. A fifth successive defeat for Almondbury BC A this time by Lowerhouses A left them anchored to the foot of the table where they are joined by Springwood B and the real danger to both teams of a second consecutive relegation looming.

With the Division 3 leaders, Marsh United, having a bye this week it was left to Hanging Heaton to close the gap when passing Milnsbridge B and move into 2nd place for the first time. An 8-0 win over Dalton secured that elevated position for them and that coupled with the Milnsbridge team's 2-6 defeat to Lindley Lib B produced that change in the running order.

The bottom two teams fought out a 4-4 draw as Primrose Hill Lib and Paddock I&C retained their grip on the relegation places. Rastrick had a good 6-2 win over Thorpe Green B to go level on points with their opponents and overtake them with the better Aggregate For total.
