Junior League

The Huddersfield Junior League has received a significant early boost to their 'Restart in 2021' campaign with the local bowling community rallying around. A number of local bowlers, along with clubs and leagues have already made donations to the fund which will be matched £ for £ by the Match It scheme.
'Restart in 2021' is a campaign to attract young bowlers to the sport after a torrid year. All the money raised through the Match It project will be used to re-energise the push to get youngsters to play crown green bowls and introduce the many benefits to a wider audience.
League Secretary, Geoff Martin, has ambitious plans to use the money raised to galvanise local junior bowling and you can read what those plans are and how you can help by following this link.
The fund has now passed the £1,500 milestone including these donations from Huddersfield bowling clubs and leagues.
Skelmanthorpe Central BC £50 Huddersfield Recreation Club £100
Kirkheaton Cons £250
Outlane BC £50 Hemplow BC £50

Kirkheaton Cons donated because ...
'Quite a number of our bowlers came through the junior ranks and we have a lot of time for the work that Geoff and Elizabeth put in. We need to keep junior bowling going because clubs like ours eventually benefit. Times are difficult but luckily we have money in the bank which we are prepared to use for the long term benefit of local bowling.'
You too can contribute to that total. Donate Now
