AIR2G2 in action video

Yesterday we posted the story of Milnsbridge and Springwood using an outside contractor to provide a major work programme on their greens using the AIR2G2 machines. Today I am grateful to John Pix, the Springwood greenkeeper, for sharing this short video of the machine in action on their green.

In fact there are two machines required to provide the full service. As John explained it to me the right hand one in the video is a spiker which is moving continuously and leaves holes about 3 inches apart both ways.

The left hand machine being the clever one as it puts 3 tines in up to a foot deep and blasts air down and then moves on a metre before doing it again. Once watched you will realise that there is very little above ground action to feast on as all the clever stuff goes on underground and out of sight.
